Privacy policy

CommonsGrove keeps only what it needs to let a community find each other and plan what happens next.

What is stored

Your name, email address, and anything you choose to add to your profile: a picture, gender, tags and a short bio. Alongside that sit the communities you belong to, the events you join, the items you offer to bring and the messages you send.

How it is used

Only to run the app: to show you to the other members of your communities, to place you on an attendee list, and to deliver your messages. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used for advertising.

Who can see it

Members of a community can see its member list, its events and its chat. A private community is invisible to everyone outside it. Direct messages are visible only to the two people in them. Administrators of a community can see and manage its members.

Where it lives

In Google Firebase, which hosts the app, its database and its uploaded pictures. Pictures are cropped and re-encoded in your browser before upload, so only what you framed is stored.

Your choices

You can edit or clear your profile at any time from settings, leave any community, and delete your own messages. To have your account and everything attached to it removed, write to the address below.
